The Ondo State Police Command said on Friday that it has started the trial of a man named Bode for killing one Tunde Akinmoyewa with a dane gun at Laoso Village in the state's Ondo West Local Government Area.
According to authorities, the 27-year-old man, described as an ex-convict, was shot dead by his companion last Tuesday while testing a new locally-made rifle.
According to a source, the deceased was shot dead by a buddy while testing a bulletproof charm in the village.
"To test the efficacy of the charms, Tunde asked his friend (Bode) to shoot him first," the source added. After Tunde's companion picked up the guy and shot him (Tunde), he collapsed and died on the spot.
"Having seen what had happened, the suspect took to his heels before the neighbours arrived at the scene and has not been arrested."
